- MADE IN GERMANY - The Hamberg is a is a full size round nose shovel, made for general digging and material moving. The ergonomically curved handle is designed for efficiency and comfort when lifting and moving heavy material loads. Work well in compact and hard soils. A shovel is primarily used for moving and transporting material, but is also commonly used for digging. A shovel will outperform spades at material moving, but a spade is more efficient at digging.
- THE LACQUERED HANDLE FINISH will protect the wood against the elements and moisture, and from drying out over time. The powder coated finish on the head will protect against rust. - BLACK POWDER COATED HEAD PREMIUM GRADE GERMAN C50 CARBON STEEL - Heat treated and oil hardened - Bent treads - Gooseneck Socket. The steel blank is heated to approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. An indentation is pressed into the blank from both sides, while the steel is soft and hot. The steel is rolled in multiple stages, which is strengthening the steel and increasing density. The heads are powder coated in a black finish to help protect the head from rusting, particularly during storage.
- HANDLE - FSC CERTIFIED GERMAN ASH - Curved and ergonomic for comfort and efficiency selected for grain orientation and density - 150 grit smooth sanded - Lacquer finish - Rubber sleeved knob. Our saw mill cuts the Ash logs into planks, which are stored and softly air dried for 9 to 10 months, depending on the weather in Northern Europe that season. Our proprietary drying process will bring the wood's moisture content down to a precise level, before the wood is ready to be made into handles.

If rusting does occur, use steel wool or an abrasive to remove the rust, and then wipe down with Axe-Guard Head Oil. Axe-Guard is a metal protecting and rust preventative oil, and the residue is safe for contact on leather, wood, or skin.
