Use this high quality diatomaceous earth as the filtering media in your D.E. filters. 24lb box with 4 x 6lb bags inside for easy adding. Add after backwashing, 1 lb. of DE Powder per 10 sq. ft. filter area.DE Powder is lighter than other dry measures - 1 lb of DE powder is about equal to a 1 lb coffee can. Upon initial start up of a DE filter, with no DE Powder at all, you should add more DE Powder, perhaps 1 lb per 5-7 sq. ft. of filter area. FOR BEST RESULTS REFER TO LABEL ON YOUR D.E. FILTER TANK TO CHECK THE PROPER AMOUNT OF MEDIA (EARTH) REQUIRED
